Dynamic contrast sucks and only 720p but it's actual, real, physical, no funny business 720p, it is much smaller and lighter, has auto focus which, surprisingly, even works quite well, keystone correction triggered by a button instead of some unpredictable magic. If you really need a small projector for travels (you likely don't) get the m220. Just like with m220 there is no HDCP support in DisplayPort-over-USB-C input. MacOS detects it as a 20.5" 720p display but allows to switch to 1080p. Filmed with an iPhone in slow motion and it looks that way. Looks like qHD chip that is pixel shifted 4 times per frame. The main problem is it does not look like it's real 1080p. And I hate it when contrast changes all the time based on the brightness of the scene. I don't know of any other portable projector that does not use dynamic contrast. Image quality is poor but, thank god, it has none of that terribly aggressive dynamic contrast m220 had. Just like m220 it takes about 10 seconds to start. The box and film wrapping around the projector were intact but there were fingerprints on the lens. This one has actual plastic buttons and it's not IR but some sort of radio. It is one step above those remotes for cheap Chinese crap that are made from the crappiest plastic imaginable with a sheet of film on top. Then after a random delay it will auto correct for the attitude the projector had in space at that random moment. This sucks because to trigger auto keystone correction you have to wiggle the projector around a bit. Keystone correction is completely automatic this time but as inaccurate as it was in m220 (very!). Like m220 it has no focus controls on the projector but also has no auto focus. Because of the size and weight don't expect to carry it around much. For all the uses one might want a portable projector, 720p is plenty.

Apparently it's still difficult to cram a 1080p projector into a small case. Definitely bigger and heavier than I expected after seeing the pictures. Charges great with the included barrel plug wall adapter so it's not a problem with the battery, looks like a bad USB PD implementation. With USB 2.0 (non PD) charger the light blinks but no current is drawn.

With Nekteck 60W, Nintendo switch 45W and any other PD charger that supports 15V modes it manages to request a 15V mode but then does not charge at all, no current is drawn, the light does not blink. With 87W Apple USB C charger it kinda charges from completely dead to 1 light. In multiple places on the box and in the manual it is stated that it is designed to be charged with a MacBook charger, but it basically doesn't work at all. Because m220 (or 300 if you can get it) is, probably, the only portable projector worth buying I had high hopes for this one.ĭoes not actually charge via USB C.
